RenewableEnergyWorld.com has published several articles and opinion pieces about various actions filed by the USA and other countries against China. We found this one interesting as it disputes recent studies and projections that the Tariff could mean the loss of American jobs.
“A recent report has generated lots of buzz by finding that as many as 50,000 jobs could be lost over the next three years if a 100 percent tariff is placed on Chinese solar panels. Yet from where I’m sitting, I see a far different number from the same report: The industry could add 15,000 jobs by 2014.
Those numbers don’t add up, right? Well, they do, but it’s all a matter of perspective, and how you look at the assumptions.”

A note from SolarLightingSmart.com: In addition several suits by many countries against China’s trade practices, particularly regarding China’s exports of solar panels, there are several layers of bi-partisan legislation pending regarding China’s trade practices. One proposal is is the “Currency Reform for Fair Trade Act, H.R. 639″ which would address how, in many people’s opinions, China “systematically undervalues its currency, making Chinese goods 40% cheaper compared to USA-made goods.” The act was to have been debated the week of January 30, 2012 but was again delayed.
